Had we not watched the debut of Survivor 6 The Amazon
for ourselves we'd have never believed
reports of the outcome. Ryan Aiken,
the pride of Ellicott City, Maryland, was
the first S6 castaway to get the boot.
Other heartthrobs have been sent packing in
the early-goings ~ Jessie Camacho during S3,
and Tanya Vance during S5 spring readily to
mind ~ but Ryan's Amazon departure in
episode one will be long remembered as a
stunner.
Equally baffling though is that every season,
contestant after contestant demonstrates
conclusively that they either didn't watch
earlier versions of Survivor, or else
weren't paying attention to the lessons that
were there to be learnt for any serious
player out to snag the million bucks.
Future castaways take note ~ whatever else
you do, *don't* invite a power struggle, and
*don't* force a showdown during the first
week, or it's liable to get you a fast
coach ticket home. Just ask Ryan ~ he
did ~ he did ~ and it did!
