During Survivor 5: Thailand John
Raymond joined an indistinct group of former
castaways, and will forever share the same
distinct honor ~ first to be voted off the
island at Tribal Council during a version's
series premiere.
We have to say it wasn't entirely clear why John's
tribemates were so anxious to send him
packing, least of all with several ~ repeat
several ~ seemingly weaker contestants
standing about him in every direction.
It's probably safe to assume that he stood
as the group maverick, which students of
Survivors past know good and well to be
the foremost taboo in all of Survivordom.
Alas, they who don't learn from Survivor
history are condemned to repeat it!
We'll leave it to the theologians and philosophers of
the world to establish how much of a sin it
was to cast out a man of the cloth, but it's
a cinch that with Pastor John gone it opened
a door for the devil and his henchmen to
wander freely on Koh Tarutao. |
