Frank Garrison was a bit of an enigma as he
traipsed through the jungle on Survivor
Africa. Comments made about him
both before and after his ouster ranged
from awkward & anti-social, to shy
& detached, to gruff & outright
rude. Like with most
things in life, the truth probably lies
somewhere in the middle.
Nevertheless,
here at
SurvivorHunks we're of a different
mind altogether. We suspect that the
image he projected to his fellow
contestants was quite deliberate and
consciously contrived, and patterned after
the crusty Rudy Boesch of Survivor 1,
whose unapologetically blunt demeanor on Pulau Tiga
nearly won him a million dollars and made
him a highly-sought Survivor personality
afterwards. Unfortunately for Frank though ~ and
unlike with Rudy ~ his "my word is my
bond" mantra wasn't sufficient to interest
a power-clique in carrying him along to
the end of the game.
But what we'll
remember about Frank even more than his
indifference, was his memorable 'elephant
waltz' ~
hunched over, with one arm swaying behind him
like a tail ~ whilst a wild elephant
looked on, undoubtedly wondering if this
safari-hatted creature was half-drunk,
half-crazed, or from outer space.
