Survivor 6 The Amazon came down to four
castaway combatants still standing,
Butch Lockley among them.
Unfortunately for Butch, the final four and
day 37 were as long as he could survive.
The increasingly popular strategy 'flying under the
radar' ~ that is to say, of remaining as
innocuous and inconspicuous as possible for
as long as possible ~ is sound in theory but
doesn't necessarily translate into victory
when played on the ground.
Case in point, Butch himself ~ whose time in the jungle
*defined* the term 'innocuous' ~ indeed no
less than twice in the days leading up to
his ouster, here at SurvivorHunks we
couldn't recall his last name without
looking it up. Butch always seemed to be off in the
boat someplace whenever anything of import occurred
in camp.
We mostly went right along thinking that Butch was
stable and level-headed. Silly us.
Late in the game we learned of his peculiar
penchant for harvesting firewood, an
obsession that eventually set the camp
ablaze and sent everybody's jackets and
letters-from-home up in smoke. Pyro-Butch,
that's him.
