Survivor 5
Thailand's Brian Heidik sent shockwaves
through the reality television world when it
was revealed (no pun intended) that he was
Survivor's first contestant with acting
experience in blue movies ~ uh, that's porn
for you lingo neophytes. But
fortunately for Brian, his backside and
telltale tattoos weren't recognized by
anyone on Tarutao Island. He kept his
secret to himself and slowly, suavely,
rhythmically, stroked the game to satisfy
his desires. And it worked, boy did it
ever.
Brian played the game like the used-car salesman he
was, and for his efforts became the
franchise's fifth Sole Survivor, and with it collected a check for a million dollars
($530k after taxes, fact).
Just as fascinating, and equally memorable, was that he
wasn't undone by a videotape sent from
8,000 miles away in California. By
winning a reward challenge he'd have been
better off losing, the entire tribe saw his wife giving a grand tour
of their elegant home, babysitting his
Cadillac, polishing her gems, and dusting the
artwork in their living room. It was a
classic piece of video, but wonder of
small wonders didn't cost him the game. |
